ROIDS is a software system that implements deep learning and computer vision to identify objects.
The Rapid Object Identification Data System Project (ROIDS) is a computer science orientated project, whereby data is captured live from a camera and the visual feed is analysed to identify certain colours and shapes. Later stages of the project will be able to identify objects such as vehicles, trees and landmarks, all identified in real-time in addition to obtaining a location based on the data acquired. This project is a great way to develop skills in computer vision and machine learning. ROIDS has potential further applications in other areas, such as crop monitoring in agriculture.
